Soul Reaver OST v7

I have went back and refined the last version of the soundtrack and produced a much more compact, "mini" version, if you like. This version is half the size of the v6 OST and contains only single looped tracks as opposed to the double looped versions in the previous one. The reason behind this was, since the Necropolis appeared to have two loops which are slightly different, it seemed all the rest had the same setup. However, after doing some research, I have come to a conclusion that this was not the case for the rest of the tracks, whose second loop was identical to the first and thus redundant. These new single looped tracks can be easily looped within the same family (Underworld, Necropolis, etc.) or just looped flawlessly on their own. There are also some other slight changes which you can find in the read me file. Hope you enjoy!

Note: This is an outdated version, see below for the latest.

    1. I had the same problem at first.
I recommend you to use only the 7 zip program, not any other like win rar. It is free, and only 1mb.
With the 7 zip program running, open only the first file (the .001) The whole content should be displayed and easily extracted, provided both files are in the same location. If this fails, your download is corrupt, just download them again. Good luck!

  2. I just downloaded this Soundtrack, and I did not expected it to be as detailed and specific. I checked the contents and read thoroughly the Text file in it. It's very impressive. Being also a LOK eternal fan, I truly want to thank you for sharing with us, and for all the time and care you invested in this. This is a true gem. Be happy.

  3. Yeah, sorry for the late reply. 7zip is my choice for archiving files, winrar is no longer updated anymore.

  5. What version is this from? PS1, PC, or DC? I've been playing through the DC version today, and, call me crazy, but it seems to sound a bit better than this production-wise, like they were able leave more data in the songs for the DC version. Or am I just hearing things? Thanks for the album, btw.

    1. This is playstation version. I do have DC version but it does not sound as good through emulation, unfortunately. I think Kurt said he had to recreate the soundtrack for DC so it can sound a bit different.

  6. Greetings, and thanks for your great work! Please pardon my ignorance, but is there no "Ozar Midrashim" in that package?

    1. Besides, I'm afraid the titles in the back cover are in need of an update: there are now 62 tracks in the 2nd folder ;-)

    2. Ozar Midrashim belongs to Information Society and does not play during gameplay. Thus it was omitted. You can get it elsewhere.

Thanks for spotting the typo, just forgot to adjust a few numbers.

    3. What do you mean it doesn't play - you can hear it every time at the well of souls and at the raziel clan territory. At least on the PC you can.

    3. Yup, I've downloaded 001 just fine, but on 002 when I click 'download' it either reloads download page without giving link to a file, or opens a link, but does not start loading. I suspect it may be some trouble on my end, but I have no clue what it could be..

And thank you for putting this out, such an excellent soundtrack this is.

  10. Amazing how many variations brings this new updated package.
Thank you so much for the hard work Raina, it's just beautiful the time dedicated to this project.
Just one variation it's bothering me: "Necropolis cmb", some time ago I heard that same variation in another site and it sounds just epic!!!
I was wondering if you would be able to replicate it with your advanced skills mixing the tracks.
It's just that the epic track is in pretty low quality (mp3 128kbps) so... Even being epic it does not sound as good as it should. The track is this: http://66.90.93.122/ost/legacy-of-kain-soulreaver-original-soundtrack/prbocsfqds/27-necropolis-cmb.mp3

I know it may not be useful to loop the track but... That's my favorite track of all LOK-SR1 but it sounds bad T___T
Well... I know this is not place to make any requests but I have some hope to listen that track in the highest quality possible (flac or something like that). I would like to know how to rip and mix the tracks from the cd of the game, but my knowledge about this is pretty limited.
Anyway... thanks for reading this (if you ever do it) and... it's nice to meet someone that likes as much (or even more) LOK-SR1 as me lol

Thank you so so so much Raina!
Edit: sorry, I did not activate the notify checkbox =S

    1. No problem! I am glad that people are still interested :) Please bear in mind, that the proto tracks which were released by the devs (the one you posted a link to) are NOT the same as the ones found in the game. You cannot rip the tracks from Soul Reaver, as they are compiled on the fly as the game runs. The way I did it is to record them in their full length to make my soundtrack. Unfortunately the original tracks are in low bitrates and there is no way to get a higher quality version than what we have.

  11. Thank you very much for this awesome job! This version is very pleasant to listening to.
However, every track doesn't seem to have only one loop. Example : "The City cmb" has clearly 2 different parts and only the 2nd one is on this v7 version.

    1. Hey, you´re welcome! :)

What do you mean there is one part missing? I am pretty sure I double checked every single track to make sure there are no duplicate loops in them. The normal City track is only 1:30mins long and so itwould be impossible cmb version to be any longer than that. If anything, some are even shorter.

    2. Hello, thanks for your reply !
I am the anonymous above, my bad... :p
Well, if you listen to the v6 and v7 of the city combat track, you'll notice at 00:15 that a background keyboard (or something) is missing on the v7.
The same keyboard part is also missing at 01:43 on the v6 which means that the whole track has 2 different parts I think.
I know it's a detail, but this track has to be one of my absolute favorite on the OST and I really missed that keyboard on the v7 :p :p :p

  12. Hi! First of all, thank you a lot for this! I've been looking forever for a high quality Souls Reaver 1 PS1 Soundtrack with all the variations that isn't from the Dreamcast version. (Some samples sound really weird due to less compression compared to PS1 i believe)
    Only got one question though:
How exactly do i open the SR1OSTv7.7z.002 in 7zip? The program keeps saying it can't be opened as an archive, but for SR1OSTv7.7z.001 it opens just fine. Windows itself also detects the .001 as an archive automatically and it can even be opened with winrar, but for the .002 windows says it's a 002-File and therefore can't be opened with either 7zip, winzp and winrar.
Am i missing something or is the archive somehow broken?
And yes i tried redownloading and such but the issues still persist. I hope you can help me out there. :)

  13. You just have to select the 001 file and with the right click select the 7-zip > "decompress here" option so 7-zip decompress all files automatically from 001 to the last part (I don't know, 009 for example)
